Direction To Use

• Preparation: Before using the Vita Classical Shade Guide, familiarize yourself with the shade categories and color ranges provided.
• Positioning: Hold the shade guide with your arm bent at approximately 25-30 cm (about 10-12 inches) from the patient’s tooth.
• Assessment: Compare the natural tooth color with the shade samples in groups A – D. Move swiftly to make a selection.
• Pre-Preparation Assessment: It is recommended to determine the tooth shade before any preparation, as the tooth may appear lighter due to dehydration after preparation.
• Lighting Conditions: Ensure that the tooth shade determination is conducted under natural daylight or standardized daylight lamps (5500K – 6500K), not under typical indoor lighting.
• Environmental Considerations: Maintain a neutral-colored environment. Remove any influencing lipstick or cosmetics. Cover brightly colored clothing with a gray cape.
• Proximity: Position the shade sample tooth as close as possible to the patient’s tooth for accurate comparison.
• Focus on Middle Area: Consider only the middle area of the shade sample tooth for selecting the shade.
• Prompt Decision Making: Make your choice swiftly and accept your initial decision, as the eyes begin to tire after approximately 5-7 seconds.
